Cookie Policy
Last reviewed on 24 April 2026This page describes how iPalette (ipalette.net) uses cookies and similar technologies. For the broader context on how your data is handled, see the Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember information about your visit — for example, how you got to a page, or what you did while you were there. Related technologies, such as localStorage in the browser and tracking pixels, work similarly even though they are not strictly cookies.
Categories of cookies used
1. Strictly necessary
No cookies in this category are required to display the site's content. iPalette does not use authentication cookies because there are no accounts.
2. Functional storage
iPalette uses your browser's localStorage to remember palettes you generate and preferences you set during a session. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to any server. Clearing site data in your browser removes it.
3. Analytics
Google Analytics is used to measure how pages are being used. It sets cookies (for example, names starting with _ga) to distinguish unique visitors and to record aggregated interactions with pages. The data collected is used in aggregate to decide which tools and articles are worth maintaining and improving.
4. Advertising
When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to:
- Serve ads that appear alongside the site's content.
- Limit the number of times you see the same ad.
- Measure the performance of ad campaigns.
- Where you have consented (or where a jurisdiction permits it), show ads based on your interests or previous browsing behaviour.
This can include Google's own cookies (for example, the IDE cookie on doubleclick.net) and cookies from other ad-tech vendors Google works with.
Third-party cookies
Several cookies on this site are set by third parties rather than iPalette directly. The main ones are from:
- Google — Google Analytics and Google AdSense.
- Ad-tech partners working with Google to serve or measure ads on the Site.
These parties set cookies under their own privacy and cookie policies. See the Google cookies information for details on Google's own cookies and what they do.
How to control cookies
You have several ways to manage cookies on iPalette:
- Browser settings. All modern browsers let you block or delete cookies. Look for the privacy or site-data section of your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may affect other sites you visit.
- Google Ad Settings. Use Google Ads Settings to turn off personalised advertising across sites that use Google's ad services.
- Industry opt-out tools. In the United States and Canada, use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out. In the EEA and UK, use YourOnlineChoices.
- Analytics opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits across sites.
- "Do Not Track" signals. Browsers that send a Do Not Track header may have their preference respected by some vendors. Compliance with DNT is not universal across the ad industry.
Consent
Where your jurisdiction (for example, the EEA, the UK, or Brazil) requires a prior opt-in for non-essential cookies, analytics and advertising cookies will only be set after you give consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or by using the ad-settings controls linked above.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
If the way cookies are used on iPalette changes, this page will be updated. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
