Privacy Policy
Last reviewed on 24 April 2026This policy explains what information iPalette (ipalette.net) collects when you visit the site, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It applies to all pages on ipalette.net.
Who this policy is from
iPalette is operated as a small independent web project. If you need to reach the operator about privacy, use contact@ipalette.net and reference "Privacy" in the subject line.
Information collected
iPalette aims to collect as little information as possible. The categories below describe what can be collected:
- Usage data via analytics. When you load a page, Google Analytics (Google tag G-41TR38EBZK) records information such as your approximate location (derived from IP), device and browser type, referring page, time on page, and interactions with the site. This data is aggregated and used to understand which pages are useful and which are not.
- Information you send voluntarily. If you email the contact address, the message itself, your email address, and any attachments you include are retained so the conversation can be responded to.
- Ad-serving data. When advertising is enabled, third-party advertising partners (including Google) may receive technical information about your request as described below.
iPalette does not require accounts, logins, or forms on its pages. Palettes you generate are computed and stored locally in your browser (using localStorage) and are not transmitted to the server.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. iPalette uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and aggregate usage information.
- Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners when ads are served, used to measure performance and, where allowed, personalise advertising.
- Functional storage (using
localStorage, not traditional cookies) to remember your generated palettes between visits on the same browser.
The Cookie Policy lists categories, purposes, and opt-out options in more detail.
Google AdSense and advertising
iPalette participates in Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your visits.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on user visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or, in the EEA/UK, www.youronlinechoices.com.
For more information on Google's advertising practices, see the Google advertising policies and principles.
Third-party vendors
The following third parties may process data about your visit:
- Google LLC — Google Analytics (usage measurement) and Google AdSense (advertising).
- Domain hosting and CDN providers — process server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) for traffic delivery and abuse prevention.
Each vendor processes data under its own privacy terms. Where Google is the vendor, see the Google Privacy & Terms.
Legal bases for processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, iPalette relies on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising, where your jurisdiction requires a prior opt-in.
- Legitimate interests — for basic server logs and security monitoring needed to run the site reliably.
- Contract / request — when you email the contact address, to respond to your message.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of data.
- Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Withdraw consent for analytics or advertising cookies at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.
California residents also have the rights described by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. iPalette does not sell personal information; some advertising-related data sharing with Google may qualify as "sharing" under CCPA, and you may opt out via the advertising controls linked above.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@ipalette.net. Requests are handled free of charge within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained for the default Google Analytics retention period. Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle the conversation and meet basic record-keeping needs. Server logs are retained only for as long as needed for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
International transfers
Vendors such as Google may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where personal data leaves your region, transfers are carried out under the safeguards each vendor provides (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Children
iPalette is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact contact@ipalette.net so the information can be removed.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect data against unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as the site evolves. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of the page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
